Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Removal / Installation

- Disconnect negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
- Partially drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT -- 3.0L for 3.0L or ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L , for 4.0L
- Disconnect engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.NOTE:
- The 2.3L engine has a CHT sensor. See CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE (CHT) SENSOR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 2.3L .
- Remove the ECT sensor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Tightening torque
16-24 N.m { 1.6-2.4 kgf.m, 12-17 ft.lbf }
