PIN POINT TEST 2 NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE 4WD CONTROL MODULE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK POWER TO 4WD CONTROL MODULE
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect the 4WD control module connectors 0318-02 and 0318-03.
  • Key ON, engine OFF (KOEO).
  • Measure the voltage between 4WD control module 0318-02 pin 1, circuit (O), harness side and ground.
  • Measure the voltage between 4WD control module 0318-02 pin 2, circuit (DG/LG), harness side and ground.
  • Are both voltages greater than 10 volts?Β 
Yes Go to step 2.
No Repair the power supply circuit. Test the system for normal operation.
2 CHECK 4WD CONTROL MODULE GROUND CIRCUITS
  • Key OFF.
  • Measure the resistance between 4WD control module 0318-02 pin 7, circuit (B), harness side and ground.
  • Measure the resistance between 4WD control module 0318-03 pin 2, circuit (B/W), harness side and ground.
  • Are both resistances less than 5 ohms?Β 
Yes Replace the 4WD control module. See 4WD CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair the circuit.
Test the system for normal operation.
