Removal and Installation

2006 Mazda B4000 Base, AutomaticSECTION Removal and Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
    • Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch lock cylinder and turn to the RUN position.
    • Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
  3. If equipped, remove the tilt release lever/ handle.
  4. Remove the 3 steering column cover screws and upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  5. Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the 2 multi-function switch screws and the multi-function switch.
    • To install, tighten to 3 N-m (0.3 kgf-m, 27 in-lbf).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
