Check RFC FLAG PID. If PID is on, go to Mode 2. If PID is off, complete Mode 1 before performing Mode 2 or 3. Connect scan tool. Turn all accessories off. Start engine. Allow engine to reach operating temperature. Ensure idle speed and timing are within specification. With vehicle in Park, raise engine speed to 2000-3000 RPM for more than 15 seconds. Raise engine speed to 4000-5000 RPM for more than 15 seconds. Release throttle and allow to idle for more than 20 seconds after cooling fan has stopped. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check drive mode completion status. If cycle is not complete, repeat cycle from engine start.
