PINPOINT TEST 4 THE AUDIO SYSTEM ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK CIRCUIT (LB/R) FOR AN OPEN
  • Disconnect: Audio unit 0920-201.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.
  • Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
  • Measure the voltage between the audio unit 0920-201 pin 1, circuit (LB/R), harness side and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?Β 
Yes Go to next step.
No Repair circuit (LB/R) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
2 CHECK CIRCUIT (B) FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between the audio unit 0920-201 pin 2, circuit (B), harness side and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?Β 
Yes Remove the audio unit. See AUDIO UNIT . Send it to an authorized audio system repair facility. Test the system for normal operation after the repair.
No Repair circuit (B) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
