- Disconnect the negative battery cable,
- Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
- Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
- Remove the column cover. (See

)CAUTION:
- The clock spring is generally not to be removed from the combination switch as may result in a malfunction of the steering angle sensor. However, remove it only when replacing the clock spring as a single unit by referring to CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. (See CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
