Sunroof Unit Removal/Installation

2006 Mazda 6 s, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Sunroof Unit Removal/Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. Microphone (vehicles with car-navigation system). (See MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    2. Sunroof seaming welt (vehicles with sunroof only)
    3. A-pillar trims (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    4. Upper anchor of the front seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    5. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    6. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    7. B-pillar lower trims (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    8. B-pillar upper trims (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    9. C-pillar trims (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    10. D-pillar trims (Sport Wagon) (See D-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SPORT WAGON]. )
    11. Front and rear map lights (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. ) (See REAR MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    12. Cargo compartment light (See CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [5-DOOR, SPORT WAGON]. )
  4. Disconnect the auto-dimming mirror connector, (vehicles with auto-dimming mirror only)
  5. Remove the sunvisors. (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
  6. Remove the assist handle. (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
  7. Remove the headliner. (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
  8. Remove the glass panel. (See GLASS PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONΒ ).
  9. Disconnect the front and rear drain hose from the sunroof frame.
  10. Remove the bolt A, and then remove the rear set bracket.
  11. Remove the bolt B and nuts, and then remove the sunroof unit.
  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  13. Adjust the glass panel. (See GLASS PANEL ADJUSTMENTΒ ).
