WARNING:
Connecting jumper wire between incorrect DLC-1 terminal and chassis ground may cause damage and possible ABS malfunction. Ensure correct DLC-1 terminal is used before jumpering.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and DLC-1 terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Red wire). See Figure . Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine off). Output all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in ABS CM memory. When first code is repeated, depress brake pedal 10 times at intervals of less than one second. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove jumper wire.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and verify ABS warning indicator light operates correctly. When DTCs are cleared, ABS warning light will illuminate for 3 seconds, then go out. ABS operation should return to normal control. If ABS warning light does not operate as described and ABS does not return to normal operation, repeat procedure ensuring that brake switch is operating normally and brake pedal interval does not exceed one second.
NOTE:
If an ABS wheel speed sensor or ABS CM is replaced, ABS or BRAKE warning indicator light(s) may not go off after clearing codes without driving vehicle over 6 MPH.
