Pump Motor

1999 Mazda Protege ES, AutomaticSECTION Pump Motor

Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect pump motor/hydraulic unit 2-pin connector. Measure resistance between terminals of pump motor/hydraulic unit connector. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be one ohm or less. Also check for continuity between pump motor case and motor terminal of pump motor/hydraulic unit connector. Continuity should not exist. If either test result is not within specification, replace hydraulic unit.
