1999 Mazda Protege ES, AutomaticSECTION Idle Speed & Ignition Timing

Ensure idle speed and base ignition timing are set to specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  and IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS (Degrees BTDC @ RPM)  tables. If adjustment is necessary, see ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
