Wiper Motor: Protege

- Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Using a fused jumper wire, apply positive battery voltage to terminal "A" at wiper motor. See Figure . If wiper motor operates at high speed, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at high speed, check for poor wiper motor ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ . Repair as necessary. If wiper motor ground is okay, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTORΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Using a fused jumper wire, apply positive battery voltage to terminal "C" at wiper motor. If wiper motor operates at low speed, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at low speed, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTORΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect jumper wire with wiper motor operating at low speed. Wiper motor should not stop in park position. Connect a fused jumper wire between wiper motor terminals "B" and "C". Using a fused jumper wire, apply positive battery voltage to terminal "D" at wiper motor. Wiper motor should operate at low speed and then stop in park position. If wiper motor does not operate as specified, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTORΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
