Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Wiper System
All wiper/washer functions are controlled by the multifunction switch and Generic Electronic Module (GEM). Major parts of the system are the wiper motor, switches, GEM (located behind center of instrument panel), control relays, washer pump, and wiring. When the wiper control switch is in interval position, wipers make single sweeps, separated by adjustable-length pauses. When selected, interval speed can also be vehicle speed dependent. Interval delay times decrease as vehicle speed increases. See SPEED DEPENDENT WIPERSΒ .
