Step 1 Check for vacuum to function control.




1. Start engine and allow engine to idle.
2. Disconnect A/C-heater vacuum source tube (black), check for vacuum.
3. Is vacuum present?





Step 2 Check floor panel door operation.




1. Actuate function control switch to the floor position.
2. Locate heater air damper door vacuum control motor.
3. Check for vacuum at blue tube and red tube.
4. Is vacuum present at each vacuum tube?





Step 3 Check heater for proper temperature.
1. Allow engine to run until operating temperature is achieved.





2. Actuate function control switch to floor position.





3. Actuate temperature control switch to full heat position.





4. Actuate blower control switch.
5. Is heater temperature OK?





Step 4 Check A/C blower motor operation.





1. Actuate A/C blower motor in all positions.
2. Did A/C blower motor operate properly?
