- Turn ignition off. Depress brake pedal and release while observing brakelights. If brakelights illuminate when pedal is depressed, then go out when pedal is released, go to step 4). If brakelights do not illuminate, go to next step. If brakelights remain illuminated, replace brakelight switch and go to step 6).
- Inspect brakelight bulbs. Both bulbs need to be burned-out to set DTC 11. If both brakelight bulbs are not burned-out, go to next step. If bulbs are burned-out, replace bulbs and go to step 6).
- Remove and visually inspect brakelight fuse located in fuse box. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. Find and correct reason for blown fuse. Go to step 6). If fuse is not blown, repair open in Light Green brakelight wire. If Light Green wire is okay, repair or replace brakelight switch. Go to step 6).
- Depress brake pedal. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between terminal No. 11 (Light Green wire) of RABS control module harness connector and ground. If battery voltage is present, reconnect all connectors and go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Light Green wire between RABS control module and brakelight switch. Go to step 6).
- Ensure all preceding diagnostic steps have been completed and involved wiring integrity has been verified. If steps have not been completed, return to last diagnostic step completed. If all diagnostic steps have been completed, replace RABS control module and go to next step. If RABS control module has already been replaced with no resolution of problem, replace brakelight switch and go to next step.
