Relay Box (Motor Relay Harness Test)

1991 Mazda MX-6 GT, StandardSECTION Relay Box (Motor Relay Harness Test)
  1. Check fail-safe relay before proceeding. See RELAY BOX (FAIL-SAFE RELAY RESISTANCE TEST). If fail-safe relay is okay, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control unit 18-pin connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect ABS control unit 18-pin connector terminals 2J (Black/Blue wire) and 2H (Blue/Black wire) to ground.
    CAUTION: When performing step 2), DO NOT allow hydraulic motor to operate for longer than 2 seconds.
  2. Ensure motor relay in relay box clicks. If motor relay does not click, check fail-safe relay and wiring harness between fail-safe relay and ABS control unit. Also ensure hydraulic motor does not operate. If hydraulic motor operates, check fail-safe relay, fuse and wiring harness between fail-safe relay and hydraulic motor.
