Switch No. 2 (Protege With A/T)

1991 Mazda 323 Base, StandardSECTION Switch No. 2 (Protege With A/T)
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect manifold pressure gauges to system. Ensure high-side pressure is less than 171 psi (12 kg/cm2 ). Disconnect electrical connector from pressure switch No. 2. Check continuity between switch terminals. If there is continuity, replace pressure switch No. 2.
  2. If there is no continuity, disconnect condenser fan connector. Operate engine at 2000 RPM. Turn on A/C with temperature lever set at coldest position. Turn on blower switch. When high-side pressure exceeds 214-242 psi (15-17 kg/cm2 ), check continuity of pressure switch No. 2. If there is continuity, pressure switch No. 2 is okay. If there is no continuity, replace pressure switch No. 2.
