  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature and run engine at idle speed. Connect a voltmeter between O2 sensor connector and ground.
  2. Increase engine speed to 4000 RPM until voltmeter reads .7 volt. Increase and decrease engine RPM suddenly several times. When engine RPM is increased, voltmeter should read .5-1.0 volt.
  3. When engine RPM is decreased, voltmeter should read 0-.4 volt. If voltmeter readings are not as specified, replace O2 sensor. 4) When using Self-Diagnostic Checker (49 H018 9A1 ), warm engine to normal operating temperature and run engine at idle speed. Increase engine speed to 2000-3000 RPM. Ensure self-diagnostic checker monitor light flashes more than 8 times in 10 seconds.
