- Warm engine to normal operating temperature and run engine at idle speed. Connect a voltmeter between O2 sensor connector and ground.
- Increase engine speed to 4000 RPM until voltmeter reads .7 volt. Increase and decrease engine RPM suddenly several times. When engine RPM is increased, voltmeter should read .5-1.0 volt.
- When engine RPM is decreased, voltmeter should read 0-.4 volt. If voltmeter readings are not as specified, replace O2 sensor. 4) When using Self-Diagnostic Checker (49 H018 9A1 ), warm engine to normal operating temperature and run engine at idle speed. Increase engine speed to 2000-3000 RPM. Ensure self-diagnostic checker monitor light flashes more than 8 times in 10 seconds.
