  1. With engine at operating temperature, run engine at idle. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve and apply intake manifold vacuum directly to EGR valve.
  2. Engine should run rough or stall. If idle does not change, check operation of EGR thermo valve. Replace thermo valve or control valve if defective.
