Engine Compression

1984 Mazda B2000 Sundowner Sport, StandardSECTION Engine Compression
  1. Fully warm-up engine. Remove nozzle holders from all cylinders. Attach adapter set (49 1456 010) and compression gauge capable of measuring more than 427 psi (30kg/cm2 ) on cylinder to be measured. Disconnect wiring from fuel cut solenoid. Measure compression by cranking engine.
  2. Check speed of engine, if compression does not reach standard pressure. If speed is normal, but compression is lower than standard value, disassemble and repair engine. If compression is more than standard value, but compression difference between each cylinder is more than 43 psi (3 kg/cm2 ), disassembling and repairing are required.
