Steering Pad Switch Circuit: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - SPIRAL CABLE)
- Disconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.
- Disconnect the L134 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L59-24 (SW2) - L134-13 (AU2) Always Below 1 Ω L59-23 (SWG) - L134-11 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω L59-25 (SW1) - L134-6 (AU1) Always Below 1 Ω L59-24 (SW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher L59-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher L59-25 (SW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly. Refer toREMOVAL

Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Spiral Cable Position Specified Condition 11 (EAU) - 3 (EAU) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω Center 2.5 rotations to the right 13 (AU2) - 5 (AU2) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω Center 2.5 rotations to the right 6 (AU1) - 11 (AU1) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω Center 2.5 rotations to the right NOTE:The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to read the Precaution for the supplemental restraint system. Refer toPRECAUTION .

- Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly. Refer toREMOVAL

- Remove the steering pad switch assembly. Refer toREMOVAL
