Steering Pad Switch Circuit: Procedure

2010 Lexus LS 460L AWDSECTION Procedure
  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - SPIRAL CABLE)
    1. Disconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.
    2. Disconnect the L134 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L59-24 (SW2) - L134-13 (AU2) Always Below 1 Ω
      L59-23 (SWG) - L134-11 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      L59-25 (SW1) - L134-6 (AU1) Always Below 1 Ω
L59-24 (SW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
L59-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
L59-25 (SW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to next step

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

Tester Connection Spiral Cable Position Specified Condition
      11 (EAU) - 3 (EAU) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω
      Center
      2.5 rotations to the right
      13 (AU2) - 5 (AU2) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω
      Center
      2.5 rotations to the right
      6 (AU1) - 11 (AU1) 2.5 rotations to the left Below 3 Ω
      Center
      2.5 rotations to the right
      NOTE:

The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Be sure to read the Precaution for the supplemental restraint system. Refer toPRECAUTION .
