Steering Sensor: Replacement

- (SEE PRECAUTION )
- SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL (SEE PRECAUTION )
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSY (SEE OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN LOWER COVER (SEE OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (SEE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSY
- REMOVE STEERING SENSOR
- INSTALL STEERING SENSOR
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
- If the following condition is identified, replace the spiral cable sub-assy with new one.
- Condition:
- Scratches or cracks on the connector
- Cracks, dents or chipping of the spiral cable sub-assy
- INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSY
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (SEE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY )
- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN LOWER COVER (SEE OVERHAUL )
- CENTER SPIRAL CABLE (SEE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY )
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSY (SEE OVERHAUL )
- INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT (SEE OVERHAUL )
- INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (SEE DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
