LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR (From July, 2003): Adjustment
2005 Lexus ES 330SECTION Adjustment
HINT:
Since the centering bolt is used as a door hinge set bolt, the door can not be adjusted with it on. Substituting a bolt with washer for the centering bolt will allow for adjustment of the hood hinges and hood lock.
- INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSY
- Check that the clearance is within the standard value.

- Using a screwdriver, remove the 12 clips and luggage compartment door cover.
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK NO.1 (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (See REPLACEMENT )
- ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSY
- For forward/rearward and right/left adjustments, loosen the bolts.
- For a vertical adjustment of the door front end, increase or decrease the number of washers between the hinge and door.
- Tighten the bolts after adjustment.
- Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Using a hammer and a brass bar, tap the striker to adjust it.
- Tighten the bolts after the adjustment.
- Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in..lbf)
