1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
2. Remove brake caliper from steering knuckle and support with wire, Fig. 8.

3. Place alignment marks on disc rotor and axle hub then remove disc rotor retaining screws and disc rotor.
4. Remove speed sensor from steering knuckle.
5. Place a dial indicator near center of axle hub and check backlash in bearing shaft direction, Fig. 5. If backlash is greater than 0.002 inch, replace bearing.

6. Place a dial indicator at surface of axle hub outside hub bolt and check hub runout, Fig. 6.If runout is greater than 0.002 inch, replace axle hub.

7. Disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle using ball joint puller 09628-10011, or equivalent, then the steering knuckle from upper suspension arm using ball joint puller 09628-62011, or equivalent.
8. Disconnect steering knuckle from lower suspension arm using ball joint puller 09628-62011, or equivalent, then remove steering knuckle and hub.
9. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove hub bearing cap from steering knuckle.
10. Secure axle hub in a suitable soft jaw vise, then using a hammer and suitable chisel, loosen staked part of locknut and remove.
11. Remove ABS speed sensor rotor. Do not scratch serrations of sensor rotor.
12. Remove bolts, then shift brake dust cover toward hub side, then using universal puller 09950-00017, or equivalent, remove axle hub from steering knuckle.
13. Using universal puller 09950-00017, or equivalent, remove inner race from axle hub.
14. Using oil seal puller 09308-00010, or equivalent, remove oil seal from steering knuckle.
15. Remove snap ring from steering knuckle, then place inner race above bearing on inner side and press bearing from steering knuckle using axle hub and drive pinion bearing tool set 09608-35014, or equivalent, and a suitable press.
16. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Press new bearing into steering knuckle using axle hub and drive pinion bearing tool set 09608-35014, or equivalent.
b. Install new oil seal into steering knuckle using steering knuckle oil seal replacer 09608-32010, or equivalent. Tap in until flush with end surface of steering knuckle.
c. Press hub into steering knuckle using steering knuckle oil seal replacer 09608-32010 and axle hub and drive pinion bearing tool set 09608-35014, or their equivalents.
