2020 Kia Soul LX, Standard TransSECTION Monitor KDS Data
Inspection Condition Inspection Procedure Reference
  1. Shift lever position "P" and ignition "ON".
  1. Connect KDS to "Data Link connector (DLC)".
  2. Monitor "G-Sensor Lateral, Yaw Rate Sensor, Lateral G-Sensor" parameter in "Current Data" with KDS.

Good 

  • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
  • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.

No Good 

  • Go to "Vehicle S/W Management" procedure.

  2. Ignition "ON".
  1. Connect KDS to "Data Link connector (DLC)".
  2. Perform "Longitudinal G-sensor Calibration (HAC/DBC Only)" in "Vehicle S/W management" with KDS.

Good 

  • Fault might be caused by incorrect calibration or yaw rate sensor has been repaired/replaced and calibration has not been performed. Go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.
  • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

No Good 

  • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
  • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace SRSCM and then go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.

    * In case of replacing SRSCM, perform "Longitudinal G-sensor Calibration (HAC/DBC Only)" in "Vehicle S/W management" procedure.
