DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

2020 Kia Soul LX, Standard TransSECTION DTC Detecting Condition
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Signal monitoring
  • Poor connector connection
  • Sensor off-set error
  • Electrical noise signal
  • Abnormal off-set of pressure sensor
  • Faulty SAS
  • Faulty ESC
Enable Condition
  • Ignition "ON"
  • During vehicle operation condition
  • No related DTC is stored
Threshold Value Case1
  • During straight driving, If the steering wheel angle is higher than 55Β°
  • When the difference between estimated angle and measured angle of the SAS sensor is higher than 50Β°, failure is detected, if the fault condition exists uninterrupted for more than 1.5s
  • When the steering wheel angle is under 3Β° during left/right curve
Case2
  • When the steering wheel angle is out of sensor specification
  • In case that diagnostic signal fault of SAS was happened for more than 100ms within normal voltage condition
  • In case that rolling count received from sensor does not increase in order for more than 10 times
  • A failure is detected if the calculated and received checksum values differ more than 10 times
  • A failure is detected if the difference between estimated angle and measured angle is higher than 30Β° for more than 420ms under the following condition
  • Change of steering angle greater than 30Β° during one system cycle is pre-detected
Disable Condition Case1
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON" and left/right steering wheel curve and vehicle speed over 20km/h (12.4MPH)
Case2
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON"
Warning Lamp
  • In case ESC(ESP) - ESC(ESP)/DBC/AVH warning lamp "ON"
Failsafe
