  • Brake lamp switch circuit open or short

Enable Condition
  • Engine "ON"
  • No related DTC is stored
Threshold Value Case1
  • Outside an ABS/TCS/ESC control, If the pressure sensor signal is higher than 15bar and brake lamp switch is OFF for 1s, The failure is detected when the case occurs 3 times in same ignition cycle.
  • While vehicle speed is higher than 20km/h (12.4MPH), master cylinder pressure is lower than 7bar, if brake lamp switch is ON for more than 2min. The failure is detected when the case occurs 3 times in same ignition cycle.
Case2
  • Outside an ABS/TCS/ESC control, If the pressure sensor signal is higher than 15bar and brake lamp switch is OFF for 3s
  • While vehicle speed is higher than 10km/h (6.2MPH), master cylinder pressure is lower than 7bar, if brake lamp switch is ON for more than 1min
  • If the brake lamp switch changes more than 40 times and master cylinder pressure is higher than 15bar for 5s
  • A failure is detected if there is no change of brake lamp switch signal during driving over 40km/h (24.5MPH) and stop 3 times
Disable Condition Case1
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON" and brake pressed (higher than 1s) and released
Case2
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON"
Warning Lamp Case1
  • ESC(ESP) warning lamp "ON"
