DTC C1379: Brake Pedal Travel Sensor-Signal: General Description
The Brake Pedal Travel Sensor mounted at the brake pedal, measures the travel distance of the brake pedal when driver presses brake pedal. Its signal is used for calculating the amount of brake force proper to driver's braking intention.
After replacing the sensor, pedal stroke sensor calibration is needed because there can be installation offset during assembling and there can be electronic signal offset.
Following symptom might be occur when calibration is not properly performed.
- In case of positive offset : AHB can be more sensitive (it can control boosting force irrelevant to the driver's braking will)
- In case of negative offset : AHB can be insensitive (Braking response can be insensitive.)
