Component Inspection

2014 Kia Soul Base, Standard TransSECTION Component Inspection
  1. Ignition "ON".
  2. Back probe and measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 2 (Ground) terminal of brake lamp switch.
  3. Operate brake pedal.

    Specification:  On Brake pedal not pressed: Approx. 12V/On Brake pedal pressed: Approx. 0V

  4. Is the measured value within specifications?

    YES 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace HECU and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
      CAUTION: In case of replacing HECU, perform following procedures.
      1. "ASP Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction
      2. "Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration" for longitudinal sensor offset correction.
      3. "Auto Detected Configuration Reset (ESP (ESC) Only)

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace Brake Lamp Switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
