Signal Circuit Inspection
2014 Kia Forte5 EXSECTION Signal Circuit Inspection
- Check open in harness
- IG "OFF" and disconnect battery sensor and ECM/PCM connector.
- Check resistance between LIN terminal of battery sensor harness Connector and ECM/PCM harness connector.
Specification: Below 1.0Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to "CHECK SHORT TO BATTERY IN HARNESS " as follows.
NO
- Repair open in harnesses and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
- CHECK SHORT TO BATTERY IN HARNESS
- IG "OFF" and disconnect battery sensor and ECM/PCM connector.
- IG "ON"
- Measure the voltage between LIN terminal of battery sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. 0V
- Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Go to "CHECK SHORT TO GROUND IN HARNESS " as follows.
NO
- Repair short to battery in harnesses and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
- CHECK SHORT TO GROUND IN HARNESS
- IG "OFF" and disconnect battery sensor and ECM/PCM connector.
- Check resistance between LIN terminal of battery sensor harness Connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Infinity
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " as follows.
NO
- Repair short to ground in harnesses and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
