Using a spring pressure gauge, measure force of brush spring. Read spring pressure with brush tip projecting .08" (2 mm) out of holder. Standard spring force is .71-.96 ft. lbs. (3.1-4.1 N.m). Minimum spring force is .36-.52 ft. lbs. (1.6-2.4 N.m). Replace spring if force is not as specified.
