Seat Massage Module

Both the Driver and Passenger front Seat Massage Modules (SMM) are located in the seat backs of the front seats. Each is attached to the respective seat carrier plate. The SMMs are a component of the Seat Massage system.
OPERATION
The Seat Massage Module (SMM) is responsible for controlling the lumbar, bolster and massage air cells in the seats when equipped. The SMM communicates on the Controller Area Network-Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) bus to receive the seat massage switch selection information and will report data and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) information over the bus. With this information the SMM operates a series of valves to control the air cells located in the seats.

When to See a Mechanic
