Rack And Pinion - Right Hand Drive (RHD): Removal

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, AWDSECTION Removal
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

    1 - Torque Sensor Wire Harness Connector
  2. DO NOT  disconnect the torque sensor wire harness connector.
  3. Remove the front crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    1 - Steering Rack Front Bolts
    2 - Tie Rod End Nut
    3 - Steering Rack Rear Bolts
    4 - Steering Rack Bracket Bolts (Short)
    5 - Steering Rack Bracket Bolts (Long)
  4. Disconnect the outer tie rod ends from the steering knuckles and DISCARD  the nuts. Refer to TIE ROD, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the steering rack front bolts.
  6. Remove the steering rack rear bolts.
  7. Remove the steering rack bracket bolts (short).
  8. Remove the steering rack bracket bolts (long).
  9. Remove the brackets.
  10. Remove the steering rack from the vehicle.
