Preliminary Diagnostic Checks
2023 Jeep Compass SportSECTION Preliminary Diagnostic Checks
- Check for any Service Bulletins, Star On-line Cases or ECU flash updates that apply to the DTC or symptom being diagnosed.
- Check for any battery voltage DTCs or a low battery voltage condition. Low battery voltage can cause a DTC. If there is a low battery voltage condition, diagnose and repair the issue causing the low battery voltage before attempting to diagnose the AWD System.
- Performance and over temperature faults can occur due to a low fluid level or improper fluid condition. Always verify that the fluid level and type are correct. If the fluid level is low or suspected of being the wrong fluid type, correct that condition before condemning any system components.
