Diagnostic Test

2023 Jeep Cherokee TrailhawkSECTION Diagnostic Test
  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    NOTE:

    Verify the connection of the ANC Microphone 1 harness connector.

    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE ANC MICROPHONE 1 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the ANC Microphone 1 harness connector
    3. Connect a jumper wire between the (X461) ANC Microphone 1 (-) and the (X460) ANC Microphone 1 (+) circuits at the ANC Microphone 1 harness connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
      NOTE:

      B143B-2B-ANC MICROPHONE 1-WIRES SHORTED TOGETHER should display as active as a result of this test.

      Does the scan tool display: B143B-13-ANC MICROPHONE 1-CIRCUIT OPEN?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Replace the ANC Microphone 1 in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (X460) ANC MICROPHONE 1 (+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the ANC Module C2 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the (X460) ANC Microphone 1 (+) circuit between the ANC Microphone 1 harness connector and ANC Module C2 harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Repair the (X460) ANC Microphone 1 (+) circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE (X461) ANC MICROPHONE 1 (-) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Measure the resistance of the (X461) ANC Microphone 1 (-) circuit between the ANC Microphone 1 harness connector and ANC Module C2 harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the (X461) ANC Microphone 1 (-) circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
