Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC WITH ONE OF THE COMPONENTS ON THE CIRCUIT DISCONNECTED NOTE:
The Rear Camera shares the same electrical harness connector as the License Lamp.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the License Lamp harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- If all components are disconnected and the DTC is still active, repeat step 3 for the Steering Column Control Module (SCM).
No
- Replace the component that when disconnected allowed the DTC to go to stored in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (D403) LIN 3 BUS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the BCM E harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the (D403) LIN 3 Bus circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage on the (D403) LIN 3 Bus circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (D403) LIN 3 BUS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (D403) LIN 3 Bus circuit.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (D403) LIN 3 Bus circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
