Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Theory Of Operation
The Wiper/Washer Switch is integral to the Multifunction Switch. The Multifunction Switch is connected to the left side of the Clockspring/SAS. The Multifunction switch provides the primary controls for the front wiper/rear wiper/washer systems, turn signals and for headlamp high beam selection. The Multifunction Switch communicates with the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) (integral to the Steering Column Control Module) via the LIN Bus. The SAS then converts this data to a CAN Bus signal and broadcasts the message to the corresponding module on the bus. Refer to SWITCH, MULTIFUNCTION, OPERATION .
