DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
EMISSIONS RECALL L35 REPROGRAM PCM - DOWNSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR SLOW RESPONSE MONITOR AND EGR MONITOR
Effective immediately all repairs on involved vehicles are to be performed according to this notification. Service Bulletin 18-024-11 is no longer applicable for the involved vehicles only.
MODELS:
2011 (JK) Jeep(R) Wrangler
NOTE:
This recall applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 3.8L engine (sales code EGT), automatic transmission (sales code DGV) and an emission control system (sales code NAS) built through March 26, 2011 (MDH 032616). Those vehicles that have already had this repair performed have been excluded from this notification.
^ The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on about 4,900 of the above vehicles may have been inadvertently programmed with software that may fail to illuminate the MIL after detection of a Downstream Oxygen Sensor Slow Response Monitor or EGR Monitor fault. This can allow an improperly operating Oxygen Sensor or EGR system to go undetected and result in excessive exhaust emissions which may exceed Emissions Standards.
^ To correct this condition, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) must be reprogrammed (flashed).
