USE THE SCAN TOOL TO REPROGRAM THE NEW POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) WITH THE VEHICLES ORIGINAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) AND THE VEHICLES ORIGINAL MILEAGE. IF THIS STEP IS NOT DONE, A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MAY BE SET.
- Position the PCM (4) on the air cleaner body cover.
- Install three mounting bolts (3) with one ground wire (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Check pins in electrical connectors for damage. Repair as necessary.
- Connect and lock the electrical connectors (2).
- Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
- Use the scan tool to reprogram new PCM with vehicles original Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage.
