Diagnostic Test

2011 Jeep Compass Base, 2.4 B, FWD, Automatic CVTSECTION Diagnostic Test
  1. VERIFY THAT DTC B1429-RADIO DISPLAY HIGH TEMPERATURE IS ACTIVE. 
    1. With the scan tool, clear all DTC's.
    2. Start the engine and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
    3. If the vehicle has been in the hot sunlight or extreme cold, move the vehicle indoors and open the doors to allow the inside temperature to stabilize.
    4. The Radio should operate between -23°C and +65°C (-10°F and +145°F).
    5. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

      Does the scan tool display active: B1429-RADIO DISPLAY HIGH TEMPERATURE?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Refer to Standard Procedure and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.

      No 

      • Test Complete.
