- CHECK CUSTOMER DRIVING HABITS
- Check with the customer about how the vehicle is driven. Below are some conditions that can cause this DTC to set.
- Driving a steep upward slope with low vehicle speed.
- Accelerator pedal and brake pedal pressed simultaneously.
- Accelerator pedal pressed under drive train locked condition (Off-Road)

- As noted in the Theory Of Operation, this DTC is designed to protect the transmission from overheating. Explain to the customer that certain driving habits will cause this DTC to set. Continued overheating may cause Transmission failure.
- Perform the CVT VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Transmission Control (TCM) - Standard Procedure .
