- ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE DTCS PRESENT NOTE: Check vehicle history for mismatched tire size, mini spare, and or incorrect tire size.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, select View DTCs in the ABS Module.
Are there any ABS DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to the symptom list and perform any ABS DTC diagnostic procedures before continuing with this test.
No
- Go to step 2
- CHECK FOR A DTC C1078-TIRE REVOLUTIONS RANGE PERFORMANCE NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- INCORRECT VALUE PROGRAMMED INTO TIPM

Is the correct value programmed in the TIPM according to the chart?
Yes
- Go to step 4
No
- Program the correct Tire/Wheel information in the TIPM.
- Perform AWD Control Module VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Standard Procedure
- Verify the correct tire/wheel information is programmed in the TIPM.
- CHECK WHEEL SPEED SENSOR SIGNALS
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, monitor and graph ALL the Wheel Speed Sensor speeds and compare graph while an assistant drives the vehicle.NOTE: If graph shows periodic dropouts pay close attention to the tone wheel.
- Slowly accelerate as straight as possible from a stop to 40 km/h (25 mph).
Are all the Wheel Speed Sensors reading the same?
Yes
- Test complete.
- Perform AWD Control Module VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Standard Procedure
No
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform AWD Control Module VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Standard Procedure
- INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
- The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
- Wiggle test the wiring harness and connectors while checking for shorted and open circuits.
- Using the scan tool, monitor the data related to this circuit while performing the wiggle test. Look for the data to change or for the DTC to reset.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform AWD Control Module VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Standard Procedure
No
- Test Complete.
