REMOVAL
1. Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. Service Precautions
2. Disconnect and isolate battery negative cable.
WARNING: Before servicing the steering column the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury.Driver Airbag - Removal.
3. Remove the floor console, Floor Console - Removal
4. Remove the shifter mechanism. Removal
5. Remove the cowl side panels, Cowl Trim - Removal.
6. Remove the passenger air bag, Passenger Airbag - Removal.
7. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, separate the snap clips and remove the steering column opening cover.
8. Remove the screws (2) and remove the steering column reinforcement (1).
9. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the upper trim cover over the center bezel and radio, Removal.
10. Remove the compass module from under the upper cover.
11. Remove the HVAC to I/P screws (1).
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors at the A-pillar.
13. Remove the end caps (2) and remove the support bolts (1).
14. Remove the passenger side silencer pad.
15. Disconnect the radio antenna (1).
16. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness connectors (4 and 5).
17. Remove the fence line bolts (2).
18. Separate the center wire harness (1).
19. Disconnect the main wire harness connectors at the driver's side cowl.
20. Disconnect the wire harness connectors at the driver's side A-pillar.
21. Remove the center support bolts (3).
22. Remove the end cap (1) and remove the driver's side support bolts (4).
23. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
