2008 Jeep Commander Overland, 4WDSECTION Diagnostic Test
  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 

    Turn the ignition on.

    With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's

    Operate the RKE transmitter in all positions several times.

    With the scan tool, read DTC's.

    Does the scan tool display B1A17-RKE FOB 8 BATTERY LOW? 

    Yes 

    1. Replace the RKE transmitter battery and retry the system. If the DTC returns, replace and program the RKE transmitter in accordance with service information.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

    No 

    1. The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
