- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the trim panel from the liftgate (1). See REMOVAL .
- Position the watershield aside to gain access to the latch.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors of the latch (2).
- Disconnect the latch cable from the liftgate handle and separate the support clips.
- Remove the three screws (2) that secure the latch (1) to the liftgate.
- Remove the liftgate latch (1) from the vehicle.
