Description & Operation: Notes
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is a dual air bag system designed to reduce serious injuries to driver and front seat passenger during a frontal impact of sufficient force. The system includes an inflatable air bag module in center of steering wheel and in instrument panel above glove box.
SRS consists of an AIR BAG warning light, clockspring, driver-side and passenger-side air bag module, Air Bag Control Module (ACM), and an impact sensor internal to ACM. The ACM monitors system, stores Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), and provides information to AIR BAG warning light and ACM data link connector.
