- Ensure pistons and rods are installed in original locations. Note cylinder number and location. For cylinders No. 1, 3 and 5, install pistons with "R" mark on top of piston toward timing belt side of engine. See Fig 1.
- For cylinders No. 2, 4 and 6, install piston with "L" mark toward timing belt side of engine. Ensure front mark, 72, on connecting rod is toward timing belt side of engine. See Fig 1.
