The speed control system provides three different input signals to the engine controller; ON/OFF, SET, and RESUME. The speed control input, ON/OFF, indicates to the engine controller that the speed control system has been activated by the driver. The speed control input, SET, indicates to the engine controller that a specific vehicle speed has been selected by the driver. The speed control input, RESUME, indicates to the engine controller that the previously SET speed has been requested by the driver.
