The following systems and components must be in good condition and operating properly before assuming a fuel injection system malfunction.
- Air filter.
- All support systems and wiring.
- Battery connections and specific gravity.
- Compression pressure.
- Electrical connections on components and sensors.
- Emission control devices.
- Ignition system.
- All vacuum line, fuel hose and pipe connections.

The ECU is an extremely reliable part and must be the final component replaced.
