1987 Jeep Comanche Base, 4.0 M, 4WD, StandardSECTION Identification

Code letters are used to identify the size and gear ratio of Jeep 7 9/16" axles. Code letters are stamped on right-hand axle housing tube boss, adjacent to dowel hole of each rear axle center section. For axle ratios, see DRIVE AXLE RATIO IDENTIFICATION article in this section.
