Engine Front Cover: Installation
1986 Jeep Wagoneer Base, 2.5 H, StandardSECTION Installation
- Clean mating surfaces of engine block and front cover. Replace front section of oil pan seal with similar section fabricated from new seal. Coat seal with gasket sealer and place in position. Apply sealant to joint of oil pan and cylinder block.
- Install Front Cover Aligner (J-22248) in front cover seal. Install front cover to block. Install and partially tighten oil pan-to-front cover screws. Install cover-to-block screws and tighten all screws. Remove front cover aligner. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
